SEMINAR I: Video Lighting Technology Choices

A two part seminar that defines and compares the four different lighting technologies used for video production today. Technical details of how the lights function are provided. In addition, issues related to usage of the lights are presented.

SEMINAR II: CRI - What is It?  Is it relevant?

This seminar defines CRI (Color Render Index) and demonstrates why CRI fails as a means of evaluating the color rendering ability of lights used in video recording.

 


SEMINAR III: Mixing Video Light Sources & Color Correction

This seminar deals with real production lighting situations where mixed light sources are present. Examples include sunlight mixed with HID, Fluorescent and LED lights.  Industrial overhead Fluorescent mixed with HID, Fluorescent and LED lights. Sodium street lights mixed with LED on camera lights. Color correction with gels are demonstrated.

Perfecting DSLR Audio

This seminar discusses different methods of audio recording with a DSLR camera. Topics include audio recording with a separate recorder such as the Zoom H4N, using an audio mixer, channel level control, live audio monitoring, automatic gain control, dual recording using an external audio device and built-in camera recorder. Comparison charts show the differences between audio mixer and audio recorder.
