Included in the kit:
A. ALZO 740 VIDEO LIGHT
B. Fanny Pack
Battery Holder &
Battery
C. Power Cord
D. Battery charger
Charging the Battery
Zip
open the Fanny Pack Battery cover and connect the battery terminals to the
cable. IMPORTANT Observe the color coding of the cable connectors and
assure RED to RED and BLACK to BLACK connections.
Plug
the battery charger into a 120 volt AC outlet and open the Velcro Fanny Pack
battery connector cover and plug in the charger connector. The initial
charge of the battery should be at least 14 hours. Subsequent charges
should only require about 4-5 hours. DO NOT charge the battery for more than
24 hours. Excessive charging will degrade battery life.
Setup and Usage:
Adjust
the waist strap on the fanny pack to your waist size so that the weigh of the
battery rests comfortably on your hips, with the battery either on you right
or left. Attach the power cord to the light, install the light on the camera
and connect the light to the fanny pack battery connector under the flap. The
ALZO 740 Video Light power cord power plug contains an LED indicator to
display proper battery charge.
Use the
power switch on the light to turn the light on and off.
NEVER TOUCH ANY
QUARTZ PHOTO LIGHT BULB
WITH BARE FINGERS.
HANDLE WITH A WRAP OR GLOVES.
When re-lamping, use the plastic wrapper supplied with the
bulb to hold the bulb. Deposits on the shell of the bulb will degrade the
life of the bulb and could cause it to explode. If you accidentally touch the
bulb, immediately wipe it thoroughly with alcohol or some other organic
solvent. Do not use soap and water as they can leave a film.
Additional info:
In
addition to spare batteries and other accessories, ALZO Video sells an
optional color correction gel kit that is easily clipped to the barndoors of
the 740 light to increase the color temperature to “daylight” 5000K. There is
a 15 Amp fuse in the power cord connector. Un-screw the end of the power
connector to access and change the fuse.
DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM:
To test the light, light bulb and power cord:
Connect the ALZO 740 power cord to the light and plug the
DC power connector into a known working car cigarette lighter socket.
To test the battery charger:
The battery charger requires a multi-meter to test the output voltage. The
un-connected battery charger output voltage should be about 20 DC volts.
Battery Failure:
If the above 2 items have been tested and the battery will not illuminate the
ALZO 740 Video Light for more than 15 minutes, then the battery is worn out.
Please do not put used batteries in the trash. These sealed lead acid
batteries contain toxic materials including lead and sulfuric acid. Please
re-cycle the battery at your community recycling center.
