Pros: Super bright 100 watt, barn doors for control, battery pack
seems more than adequate. Low cost compared to equivalent products.
Cons: Gets Really hot fast; not much
bulb protection.
Best Uses: A great Spot light for
portraits (keep it away from the fabrics though)
Describe
Yourself: Professional Videographer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The price was far cheaper than anything else in
its range, so the drawbacks are lessened by the minimized damage to my
pocketbook.
The light itself performs like a champ. The
rear portion stays cool to the touch with reasonable usage. It does tend to
heat up really quickly (100 watt halogen, duh) and the barn doors become too
hot to touch pretty quick, so adjust them when its cool! There is also no
glass or other protection for the bulb, which on the one hand lets it breathe
and cool quicker, but on the other leaves it open to the elements.
